When considering a job candidate without working experience, employers are looking for other ways to validate character and abilities. Always include personal references at the bottom of your resume. If possible, select references who know you well and have a background in the job you’re seeking. Prep your references for potential contact by reminding them of your education, experiences, skills and traits. Then ask them to write a letter of recommendation to accompany your resume.
I would recommend reading through all of these links and giving the student resume examples a glance for good measure. They contain excellent strategies for how to format the education section of your resume to maximize displaying your academic achievements and academic activities in a way that is relevant to your potential employer. The first link tells students of all types (high school, college, professional) how to write the education section. The second link gives strategies for displaying non-career related experience on your resume. The final link gives examples you can look through to help you visually understand how your education section can look.
In lieu of job training, your skills, talents and strong personal traits are what you have to sell to a potential employer. Dedicate a section of your resume to list computer skills and other job-related talents such as special writing abilities or languages spoken. Also include strong personal traits such as being detailed and organized or being a good listener and a fast learner.
